Fried noms and yums

This week’s post updates have been going fairly well if I don’t say so myself!

I’ve been a relatively good blogger so I decided to treat myself to some noms!

Here in Toronto it’s thanksgiving or in the states it’s Columbus Day, either way… THREE DAY WEEKEND AWW YEAAAAAAAA!

So yeah here are my noms of the day!

I started off breakfast/brunch at my local favorite bakery, Furama.

I had milk tea and a corn/ham bread NOM NOM NOM!

Just a little dimsum

Another quicky post: dimsum for lunch!

So I ate lunch with some relatives at Dragon city centre’s dimsum place, but I arrived late so sorry for the lack of dimsum!

Though, the highlight topic among the Middle Aged relatives would be karaoke night LOL they have 60 people so far going. Karaoke for Asians is like no other group activity ever seen. I’m happy I’m not invited xD

I had the normal hah-gow(?) and Shu Mai. And something…. LOL it was all delicious ^_^

But yeah I love Thai iced tea and when it’s canned it can only be more convenient!

Also for my noms I got more viet styles spring rolls!

Korean food and a drink?!

So yesterday I had met up with a friend, girl (YAY!).

We decided to try a new Korean place on Dundas called ‘Kimchi Korea House’.

Also huge plus, they had wifi! Huzzah!

I had wanted to order Soju but unfortunately their liqueur license hadn’t gone thru yet, poop. But the waiter informed us that they were getting it soon!

For an appetizer we had ordered Takoyaki, octopus balls, at $7.50 they were kind of pricey and a bit disappointing because they were the frozen stuff. I could’ve bought a bag of frozen Takoyaki in Boston for $10 so yeah that was disappointing.

But fortunately the Kimchi Chigae(stew) made up for my disappointments, because it was legitimately DELICIOUS. I believe it was about $9. If anything I would recommend you go there just for that! It was much better than the kimchi Chigae I had gotten Korea House on Bloor in K-town!

It was still bubbling when the waiter had brought it to me!

The rice was also very nice and fluffy, great rice texture! 😀

My friend had gotten the kimchi pancake which was nice and crispy! But we both agreed that the kimchi Chigae was the bomb.

20121003-111526.jpg

Also the meal came with a complimentary salad, and of course bon chon!
Yum, I loved the pickled radish!

20121003-111640.jpg

Overall a decent meal!

After we walked a bit further down to ‘Jack Astor’s’ to get a drink and dessert!

It was a bit exciting to use my legal status in Toronto for the first time as they had ‘carded’ me but I was a bit sketch and gave them my passport LOL. My Ontario photo ID hasn’t come in yet.

But I had ordered a beautiful ‘Blue Raspberry Lemonade’ and I had it ‘jacked up’ with an extra shot and it was still delicious! I barely tasted the alcohol, it was nice and light!

20121003-112137.jpg
And we had also gotten a Red Velvet cake which was AMAZINNGGG.

20121003-112242.jpg

This is how much I enjoyed the kimchi chigae! 🙂

Kim Moon, back in Toronto

Well today was a bit of a full day for food, but I’m back in Toronto again!

Sorry for the lack of posts LOL (yesterday?) I’ve been trying to do daily posts but mehhh!

October! Which means pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks!

Anyways for lunch today I had a rice + pork + ginger dish made by ‘Kim Moon’ it’s a bakery in the front and in the back it’s a mini restaurant? It also serves all day dim sum, but the dim sum is nasty there in comparison to the other places you can get it nearby! But the rice is decent!

Also I’ve been bored lately? Anything interesting to read on the web lately? Blogs? BOOKS? I’m reading Harry Potter in French! LOL

Parlez vous français? 😉

Mexican! Huzzah!

So during my last day in Utica, NY, Julie and T brought me out to a Mexican place called ‘El Canelo’!

Which I must say, was DELICIOUSSSSS!!!

I had a lunch special named ‘Special number.9’ which contained a beef enchilada, chile relleno and of course the best, RICEEEE!

I don’t know much about Mexican food, due to my lack of true experience of the aforementioned BUT IT WAS GREAT REGARDLESS.

However, I wasn’t a big fan of the chile XD but the enchilada and the rice was GREATTT 😀

Greyhound bus, no one knows what’s happening.

Wow, my trip experience so far with Greyhound bus is TERRIBLE.

And it has only been an hour so far.

With my understanding of my purchased ticket stating ‘one way’ I had assumed wrongly that I would be on one bus from Utica, NY to the Buffalo intl airport with stops at Syracuse and Rochester to drop and pick up other customers .

But boy was I wrong, the moment our greyhound bus arrived at Syracuse we were told to get off. I was told that to go to buffalo that I was to get onto bus 1. However as I asked the driver of bus 1 if the bus was to stop at buffalo airport he said his bus did not in fact stop there.

To that I went inside to ask the Greyhound bus corner to ask exactly which bus I was to get onto, to which they replied bus one, and to that I had told them what occurred above.

Other customers lined up with me to ask the same question, ‘which bus were they to take?’.

The whole scene was a mess, I felt like no one had a true real grasp of what was happening.

Not only were they confused but so was I. It took a few minutes but then they told me to get onto bus 2, to which I was going to get off at Rochester and SWITCH buses yet again!

But that’s not even the biggest problem right now, I’m currently on bus two with NO DRIVER? I’ve been in Syracuse now for 50 minutes, with the ticket stating the bus would leave at 3:00, it’s 3:30 now.

I can only hope that once I reach Rochester I’ll be able to get to the Buffalo airport eventually.
Needless to say I’m never going to use Greyhound bus services again.

Don’t want to be a catlady? DRINK

So part two of the new single life, drinking!

But who says it can’t be…COLORFUL AND FUN!

So I’ll do a step by step tutorial of how to create a fun and simple way to socially drink!

Orange peel Jell-O shots!

Drink responsibly!

Step one: cut all the oranges in half!

20120927-162704.jpg

20120927-162746.jpg

Part two: UNMAN THAT ORANGE!
Or just simple scoop out that fleshy part of the orange!

20120927-162901.jpg

Save that fleshy part and make orange juice!

20120927-162922.jpg

Part three: make the jello itself by mixing making 3/5 cup vodka, 2/5 cup cold water, and 1 cup of boiling hot water!

20120927-163324.jpg

Step four: pour it into the orange peels, but to allow it to solidify properly I put the orange peels into a cup cake tray and I suggest you do too! Allow the jello to solidify in the fridge over night!

20120927-163517.jpg

Step five: cut those halves into more halves into another half. So basically one orange peel half into quarters!

20120927-163900.jpg

20120927-163928.jpg

Step six: Enjoy the rainbow with your friends!

20120927-164107.jpg

🙂

Breakup = catlady+drinks

20120927-010856.jpg

So in light of my recent breakup I have become a slight cat lady! LOL

I kid I kid, my friend’s cat Cuddle just seems to have taking a liking towards me! So she lets me pet her.

But yeah I haven’t turned into an alcoholic or anything I just like pretty green drinks! HUZZAH!

Midori+ orange juice + water + sugar + ice = yummy! And pretty!

Enjoy the pictures, maybe? CATS!
