Beauty Post Ft. The Face Shop

Hello everyone!

Sorry for my realllllyyyyy long break, haha. Today I won’t be talking about food unfortunately and if you were only interested in my food stop reading now or maybe continue if you’re bored!

If you want to see how I turned into this.

So my new hobby lately besides food has been make up, and I recently got some new items from The Face Shop.

I’ll be featuring 3 out of 5 items today.

I also got the Lovely ME:EX You & Face Blusher in (09) cinnamon dream, which is their darkest contour color and their Eyelashes (01)? P.S I procrastinated wayyyy too long posting this.

First Date in Niagara Falls Canada

Wow, it has been a while! Though no one really reads my blog I figured maybe I should update it for myself. Sometimes I like to browse through all the yummy things I had before.

***warning lots of love***

So I spent the weekend with my boyfriend (ahhh the same guy who was mentioned in my last post, hehe) in Niagara Falls and during that time we had some amazing meals together.

Let’s start off with dinner. 🙂

For dinner we went to AG. Atmosphere : Romantic

I had the “Fork to Field” menu which consisted of an appetizer, entree and dessert!

Image

This was the duck….I regret not taking a picture of the menu (haha I feel so silly now about how nervous I was about our first date, ah first dinner together 🙂 ❤ ) I found this dish to be a bit dry but it was still really good.

Image

My entree was a lamb dish. Okay if anything I can vouch that it tasted great. The lamb was juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection. Seriously it was perfect. I would eat this again in a heartbeat. 10/10. And it had a piece a cornbread (located in the back of the picture) which was hot to my surprise, but I’m not fond of dry foods, still tasty though.

But like always best for last was the DESSERT. THE. TIRAMISU. WAS. AMAZING. I wish I could convey how amazing it was, how it was literally dessert perfection but I can’t.

Image

I can’t believe I didn’t think I would want dessert because I was so stuffed at the end on the meal. But the tiramisu was perfection. And that’s all I want to say about it.

In the end AG will always have a spot in my heart because of who I had the dinner with. But the food was fantastic and I would definitely go back there again.  ❤

Next would be the lunch at Taki, a authentic Japanese restaurant. Yummy. The Japanese decor was super cute, we had a cute private booth together.

For starters we got the Gyoza which was featured in the Tapas menu runs till February I believe. I was so hungry……so you get to see a picture of one of them.

Image

I got the Taki lunch meal with the grilled mackerel, it came with miso soup and salad (not shown) and also deep fried tofu.

Image

Image

First off I want to say that this was the biggest unexpected meal ever, seriously I didn’t think the portions would be so huge. Eyes bigger than the mouth whaaaa.

The grilled mackerel was great, all the grilled fish awesomeness that I had expected (and wanted). The surprising part came from the potato salad pictured on upper right hand corner, the spicy mayo complimented the potato salad well. I need to figure out how to make spicy mayo.

Note to self- youtube spicy mayo.

The tofu was a bit plain but oh well, I was there for the fish anyways.

I came to the lunch starving, and left ready to roll around and succumb to my food coma. Overall a really great lunch, but you know it was really who I ate with that made it great.

His dinner at AG which was the rabbit, new to the menu! And his appetizer!

Restaurant week, greeneggs cafe and ramen!

So last week I was in Philadelphia, the city of brotherhood. Or something. HAHHAA I lived there previously for a year, and attended the most awful catholic middle school. The only good thing that came out of that experience was the ever lasting friendship made through those awful experiences. So overall kind of worth it? Anyways back to the food, I was there when restaurant week was in!

Lets talk about that first, I went to Lacroix with my Canadian friend who happens to go Upenn! Weird meeting up with my Canadian mates in a different country but it was fun.

Lacroix is located inside The Rittenhouse hotel in center city. As with restaurant week guidelines it was a 3 course meal; appetizer, entree and dessert.

My first course was the Cesar salad! It was good? Crunchy and fresh leaves? I can’t gauge salads since I just love salads not matter what.

20130203-132154.jpg

Next course I appreciated a lot more! It was duck with a very complimenting raisin sauce. I loved everything about this dish, the texture, the flavors and it was so pretty too! Or at least as pretty as food gets really haha.

20130203-132527.jpg

The last course was a trio of mini desserts, my favorite was the blueberry tart in the center…because blueberries! Hahaha it was nothing out of the ordinary really but still good. Just didn’t really have that wow factor.

20130203-132754.jpg

However the brunch the next day completely made up for any lack I sweets I had the day before! The Greeneggs Cafe is a MUST if you’re ever in Philadelphia! Just be wary of the day, we went on a Saturday and had to wait 50 minutes for a group of four! But it was completely worth it!
Yeah, please go if you’re ever around.

I shared a Pork Belly Benedict, Creme Brûlée French toast and red velvet pancakes with my friends. They also got some sandwiches. But their breakfast foods are absolutely marvelous especially their red velvet pancakes.

So lets start with that one!

20130203-133454.jpg

Now that you’ve seen it I can vouch that it was everything I could’ve imagined but better! It was melt in your mouth and….DELICIOUS. Just please go try it.

Next up the the Pork belly Benedict and the Creme brûlée French toast. I loved love loved the Benedict, it had nice pieces of pork belly, not too fat but not too lean, the right amount of happiness?

20130203-133922.jpg

The French toast was great…just not as great as the red velvet pancakes HAHAA. I loved the berry sauce, it complimented the dish fairly well!

20130203-134100.jpg

Extras now are the sandwiches my friends got, and I didn’t try but they looked good. But….we finished the pancakes, French toast and benedict-Not the sandwiches. 😛

20130203-134348.jpg

Last but not last, I went to Ramen Bar in university city! I had the tonkatsu ramen!

But was a pretty decent bowl of ramen! If you’re ever in university city I suggest you try!

Georgetown cupcakes, Thai, Korean, hotpot, and Chinese! Back to Boston!

So I was back in Boston and WOOOO new restaurants and old restaurants!

Best new thing was definitely Georgetown Cupcakes! The hype was totally well deserved! Delicious delicious DELICIOUS CUPCAKES!! I was super lucky the day I went they were giving away a free cupcake per order, they even would substitute the one you would’ve paid for if you bought only one (does that make sense?)! Instead I bought one and got one for free! I got chocolate squared and lemon blossom! They were both so freaking delicious. I don’t even know which one is my favorite but seriously… Seriously, amazing cupcakes.

20130123-233421.jpg

20130123-233700.jpg

And then my all time favorite restaurant in Boston…DUN DUN DUN…! Gourmet dumpling house! Really it should be t favorite food in Boston because the service there is really crap unless you have a mandarin speaker friend with you( WOOO LUCKY ME!) but yes good food crap service! LOL and they charge you a crazy gratuity (like 25%) when you have a party greater than 5. But yea anyways I LOVE THE XIAO LONG BAOS THERE AND THE SCALLION PANCAKE! That’s it. Everything else is good but those are my favorites!

WOO DONE. TIRED GOOD NIGHT! THANK YOU FOR READING!!! LOVE YOU GUYS LOADS!!!

Sake,ramen,skiing and Indian!

I’m back and I come bringing a lot o food adventures!

Starting off with an amazing sake tour from the Ontario spring water sake company in the distillery district in Canada!

Though the day I went with a friend unfortunately coincided with a power outage, instead of a full tour we had a great description and story telling of how sake is made by a wonderful employee there!

We tried almost all the different types of sake produced there, instead of the usual 4 tasters we got 6. Probably because we were the only tourers there and plus the power outage. BUT YAY regardless! My favorite was numa-cho!

20130109-103324.jpg

20130109-103409.jpg

The side products of sake is of course the rice products. Features above are the DELICIOUS salad dressings made from the rice products. My favorite was the wasabi one. We dipped the rice crackers into the salad dressings to try.

In the end I definitely would suggest going!! Much fun and tipsy happy end story, though I’d like to suggest you eat before the tour because I didn’t. xD

After the tour my friend and I decided to get ramen at Kenzo! TONKATSU FTW!

The day after I went to holiday valley to ski with friends, and we are at tamenbomb? Lodge LOL

Scallion pancake from Tea Leaf Cafe. It’s pretty good! It’s a great snack with my bubble tea!

20121128-171232.jpg

Tho thinking about it their bubble tea is subpar sometimes. Don’t get the yogurt bubble tea. It literally tasted like water. With yogurt flavoring!

Finally the empanadas I made. Delicious. Or maybe I think that way because it took two hours to make LOL either way, enjoy.

Ka Chi, bibimbap

YUMMM one of my most favorite Korean dish is bibimbap!

A rice dish in a hot stone pot with assorted vegetables, beef and an egg!

The best part is that in the end you can eat the burnt rice. Nom nom nom.

I had it at Ka Chi, though it was completely crowded at 6 pm on a Sunday it was worth it. Ka Chi was great! 🙂

Try it sometime.
